What are human beings doing in space?
SpacePolitics.Blog takes an objective look at exactly what are human beings doing in space and what is the future of humans in space.
While billions of suffering, hungry humans dream of food, water, shelter and safety, American billionaires and others dream of making a special place on other worlds, starting with the Moon and Mars.
Human beings in space have transmogrified from a surface nuisance to orbital jackasses.
Objectively-speaking, the earthbound unwashed masses seeking food, water, shelter and safety have no need whatsoever for governments and billionaires to spend exorbitant amounts of money on so-called space exploration, interplanetary development and colonization - for the alleged benefit of all human beings.
Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and others warn the unwashed masses that mankind must engage in space exploration and interplanetary colonization ASAP because the Earth will one day become uninhabitable and THEREFORE, we must colonize Mars ASAP.
Musk has actually proposed building one thousand Starships and loading up 7 billion human beings and their belongings on Elon's Starships and ship humankind to Mars at a cost of approximately one billion US dollars per ton.

Scientifically-speaking, the Earth will not disappear for billions of years and no manmade disaster or nuclear war will make the Earth uninhabitable.
Says who? Says the majority of the scientific community, nuclear science experts and geologists.
Even in the event of nuclear war and any subsequent winter, life on Earth would be difficult but remain habitable.
Why would anyone insist that Earth will absolutely become categorically uninhabitable and therefore humankind must expand our existence beyond Earth?
For some it's a nice dream, but that special dream evaporates in the light of objective reasoning.
Why would Elon Musk insist that the Earth will soon become uninhabitable and therefore investors must fund endless space exploration and the colonization of Mars?
Elon knows that he alone cannot fund his dream of colonizing Mars by himself, so he must create a sense of urgency to fully fund space exploration and fulfill Elon's childhood dream of becoming the "Ruler of Mars."
Elon Musk and Bezos have had a bellyful of sad Earthlings hating on billionaires and their space dreams and are ready to establish a special society of former Earthlings on Mars who will sing praises of Musk and Bezos and readily accept Musk's vision of human existence.
Joe Six-pack, waitresses and truck drivers.

Let's set aside the exorbitant cost of such space exploration, testing, missions, etc. but let us examine the utility and function of such a dream.
Questions arise:
What makes Elon Musk or anyone else think that the primary problems most human beings suffer on Earth will magically evaporate upon landing on Mars?
Can Musk really look at anyone with a straight face and claim that colonization sponsors will provide solutions on Mars colonizers are not willing to implement on Earth?
The more you look at Musk's claim of Mars colonization the more he sounds like he wants to make a special place for special people* who hail Musk as the best in off-world real estate development and attractions.
